As a running mag editor for many years I've been obligated to read/scan far too many running articles and books. My official retirement freed me of that sometimes tedious duty; however, when I found My Life on the Run, I couldn't resist. I have to say, with no ulterior motive, Bart Yasso's book is the most philosophically insightful since George Sheehan and the most engaging book on running I've read (forced or by choice). Just my opinion--but of course if I hadn't liked it, I wouldn't comment at all (my job as editor being past tense).

This is an intelligent book with GREAT stories from Mr. Yasso. I loved it. I laughed out loud in some of the situations he faces. You won't find a better read--runner or not!

Bart Yasso's stories are funny (he is a pun master) and entertaining, while inspiring the reader to get out and run a lot of miles! I read excerpts from this book in Runner's World, bought the book, and have given copies as gifts. Everyone I know who has read it really likes it.
Inspirational Read

Whether you are a seasoned runner or an aspiring beginner this book is worth the read. As I read this book I found myself catapulted from deep contemplation to laughter within the course of a few sentences. Through this collection of stories Yasso takes us through the highs and lows of his life and the great joy of running (and biking). He offers salient advice for those who want to run better without making it sound like a "how to" section. Whether you run or just read this is a book of inspiration that is too good to pass up on.
