This was the first Edwardian story I have ever read and I really liked it. It had a mixture of old Regency period custom and propriety, and new century's charm and conveniences. I have read some of Ms. Chesney's books in the past, and not all of them were consistant in plot developments and characters growth, but I found this was one of her well written books. The author's road of leading a naive school girl to a mature young lady was very interesting--it was fun at times and sad at another, but it filled with some growing-pains that most of us could relate (This story somehow reminded me of movie "GiGi"). I enjoyed its unique plot and Ms. Chesney's clean and crisp way of writing.
