When Rachel's dad buys her a rat from the pet store, she learns all about caring for her intellegent new friend. Twelve-year-old Rachel also discovers that the rat's reputation is largely undeserved, and that rats are playful and affectionate--as good as a cat or dog.
We got this book for my seven year old son to learn about pet rats. He loved it & it has inspired him to try to do many things with his pets. He could also identify with the girl who talks of divorced parents & living in two different homes. Very well written & informative, a perfect read for kids. I highly recommend it for children who have pet rats or would like to have them.
A great Book!
