Haffner, eloquently and thoroughly presents the person and role of Mary in salvation history. Each chapter has a different focus: prefigurements of Mary in the Old Testament, the Marian dogmas, Mary as a model of the Church, etc. In each chapter, Fr. Haffner explains a topic, and then gives a thorough presentation of where the teaching on that topic comes from, in scripture, and in the writings of theologians from the earliest Christian times right to the present. He presents both a solid foundation of teaching on the Blessed Virgin Mary, and gives the reader the necessary resources to continue entering deeper.
