A chance meeting on a train to Tokyo sends two girls named Nana on a collision course with destiny! Nana "Hachi" Komatsu hopes that moving to Tokyo will help her make a clean start and leave her capricious love life behind her. Nana Osaki, who arrives in the city at the same time, has plans to score big in the world of rock'n'roll. Although these two young women come from different backgrounds, they quickly become best friends in a whirlwind world of sex, music, fashion, gossip and all-night parties! Anxious to get into a Tokyo groove, both women are on the prowl for a funky and cheap place to live. But inexpensive apartments in Japan's capital city are hard to find. Thank goodness each Nana has a clique of cool friends willing to help out. Too bad these friends are a little wiggy!
The Nana series is one of my favorite mangas. Two girls named Nana meet on a train and they are extreme opposites! Looking for a place to live, they run into each other again by looking at an apartment. This is a classic manga that should be on everyone’s reading list if you enjoy manga.

i generally don't read manga or anything, but this series had me hooked from the first issue. it's not super-sappy romance stuff, it doesn't read like a high school love fantasy. the characters have flaws and desires and very human needs. it moves along nicely enough, it's not over-the-top soap opera drama, it definitely takes its time in letting the characters breathe and grow. my only complaint is that the translation is a bit odd. i don't know how to describe it. it doesn't really get in the way of the story, it just makes the reading a little...choppy? worth buying!
NANA Rocks!

This whole series is such a great deal! it's idealy for teens older than 16, because it is packed with drama, romance, sex, and alcohol. It's basically about two girls who are both named Nana, and they turn into the best of friends in Tokyo. Nana K. is very girly and naive, and she's also kinda a pushover. She falls for guys ALL THE TIME, and was cheated on by her bf. Nana K. is a tough band singer on the other hand..read on to find out more about these 2 awesome girls!!!
Nana is awesome
