Thus it is about the National Labor Relations Act, the National Labor-Management Act, and the National Labor-Management Reporting and Disclosure Act. This work will, if read front to back, give you a striking understanding of how the Federal Courts are interpreting these laws. The dull repetition in the original work is not here, here every case covers a distinct angle of the law. If you read only one book on Labor law as it applies to Unions, this work is the best thing to read. There is no conjecture, nor speculation, here you will only find the law.As regards the last section of this book dealing with the criminal codes, one of the stated purposes for the racketeering codes was to eliminate Mafia control and influence of Labor Organizations. Thus, there are very important reasons to study these Codes. Blacklisting by Unions is a common tactic used to keep memberships pliable and obedient, and to punish dissenters. This activity can be "Witness Tampering" and carries a twenty-year prison term and a $250,000 fine under the RICO Act, and it is always interference in interstate commerce to deny the Blacklisted person his right to enter into interstate commerce to obtain Wages, Profits, Sales, or Contracts, as due process allows. The taking of dues from members greater than the law allows is also common and can amount to Extortion. Denying Union dissenters the right to democratic participation also may qualify as Extortion.Unionism has become big business, and so, corrupt. This section will provide you with a basic understanding of the Racketeering Codes and how they apply to Unions, but that is all. The vast breadth of the Racketeering Codes are not addressed here, for this book is not about Racketeering.As one Lawyer said to me after reading this section of the book "This is big!"
