The third book in the Necroscope series traces the battle between Harry Keogh and the horrifying Vamphyri on their home ground, an alien landscape of looming towers, impossible cliffs, and ravenous vampire-beasts. Russia's Ural Mountains hide a deadly secret: a supernatural portal to the country of the vampires. Soviet scientists and ESP-powered spies, in a secret military base, study the portal--and the powerfully evil creatures that emerge from it, intent on ravaging mankind. When Jazz Simmons, a British agent sent to infiltrate the base, is captured by the KGB espionage squad and forced through the portal, his last message tells Harry Keogh, the Necroscope, that the vampires are preparing for a mass invasion. Harry has only one option--to strike first. He must carry the human-vampire war to the vampire's own lands. But his strongest psychic power will be useless there. What good is the power to summon the dead in a country where nothing ever dies, where every man, woman, and child become half-dead servants of the Vamphyri?
Lumley has done it again with this great sequal to his preveious two books. It reintroduces one of my preveious favorite characters (Zek) and introduces some new ones! This story I must adimt, as well as his previous book (Vamphryi) was not as strong as his first book Necroscope, though this is a great book altogether anyway! I highly suggest this book for anyone who enjoys reading vampire novels, enjoys good blood as well as action!Five Stars! Go Lumley!

This installment is one of the best horror/sci-fi/fantasy series that is in existence today. The writing is some of the best - fast-paced and frightingly real-like. It makes you almost believe the history of the vampires is real its so well done. And then he throws in werewolves! These are novels that you will want to re-read over and over - GUARANTEED! I don't even usually read this genre of book, but Lumley does it soooo well with an added mixture that mixes so well together. If only hollywood were smart enough to make this into a film, were talking for sure MEGA-BUCKS people! A must read.

If I had to pick one book out of the 1st 5 Necroscope books, it would be between this one or Deadspawn, because they both have parts in the Vampire world, which is a fascinating place.
The Source for great horror...Brian Lumley

As I sat down to start reading the third book of Brian Lumley's Necroscope series, I admit I was a bit skeptical of it. The first book, Necroscope, was nearly perfect and very enjoyable. In my experience with outstanding first books in a series, it is rare the books that follow ever meet their potential. Brian Lumley has provided a challenger which definitely lives up to its potential. The novel seemlessly sews two(and potentially more) books together and clears up many of the questions left from the previous two books. This book is not just a rehash of his previous books, but still touches the back to past events. Also, for readers of Lumley who have waited awhile to pick up this edition, they should not let that stop them. Lumley includes enough details about the past books to refresh your memory. It had been almost a year since I read Necroscope II and this books rushed those great memories right back in full force. Definitely get this book and read it, it will bring that passion for the (un)dead back like nothing else.
A true classic

Brian Lumley has created the ultimate in horror. He combined the horror of the ultimate predator and prey. The Wamphyri are the ultimate in vampires, yet redefining the term "vampire" Harry is the ultimate in humanity and power. Through his weird Necroscope powers, he propels the reader into the horror of the counter-earth breeding place of vampires and the ultimate showdown of good vs. evil
