Excellent Children's Story

Well written and beautifully illustrated story. I read it to my children (ages 4-8) who listened intently as the story progressed. Excellent character development and plot. I bought the book because I share the same last name as the author. Interestingly, we have a black cat with white paws and a brown dog that the cat swats and chases. Must be a relative of Nero Corleone! Great family keepsake.

My aunt and I read this book together for one of my 4th grade book reports. We took turns reading it to each other. The story affected me in a way that no other book has. My aunt gave me this book before we traveled to Italy for a vacation. When we read the part about Nero returning home to Italy it made us cry. When he said something about the stars being much closer and the moon being much brighter in Italy than Germany, it touched my heart. I hope that one day I can read this book with my nieces.
