I enjoyed this book: clear language, accessible for people outside the field, and covers all aspects of networking. I would even call it a "killer textbook" on networking, because you don't need to learn much more after finishing it. Thanks, Kari Brooks and Sybex.
Very good book!

Very good overview of networking technology. I am rarely impressed with Sybex books, but this happens to be one of the ones I really love, along with their cisco series. I highly reccomend this book only for beginners, or for networking pro's who need a quick refresh. I only read half of it, because I started Cisco training, but from what I DID read, I was highly impressed, if you want a complete overview of networking, you need nothing else! Get this book! A MUST for any IT profesional.
Exellent book, gives you a broad Networking Understanding

This was an excellent book that gives you broad understanding and overview of networking. A great place to start to acquaint yourself the many different aspects of networking from design, maintenance, security, and more. It also it is nice way to sample the best parts of several of Sybex's books. The cheap price of this thousand page book clearly makes it the best value of networking books out there.
Excellent Overview of Networking
Published by Thriftbooks.com User , 24 years ago
For the price, this is the best value on the market in the area of networking. This book presents a fairly in-depth look at networking, and is a compilation of several Sybex texts. Its level can sometimes be simplistic, but having passed A+ and Microsoft's Net Essential, this would have been a good prep book. If you have never read a book on networking read this one first. If you have passed intro-level networking, pass this one by.
