Tully Gale wasn't the kind to cause trouble, but when he happens upon a dam, he quickly realizes it was withholding the only source of water for the entire area. And Sugar Lagg had put it there on purpose; he wanted to cause a drought, because he wanted the land for himself, and the horses. To make the stream run again, Tully knew the dam had to go, and to out fox Lagg would take considerable time and effort, not to mention it might cause an all out range war. Giff Chesire has written a fine novel which had originally been published in the early fifties in one of the many western magazines of the times. It's MY kind of book and story, and one I think most anyone would enjoy if given a chance. There's action, and romance, of course, because of when it was written and published; but neither take away from the story or the characters. A good read by one of the best novelists of the west.
