Hi everybody! I loved this book! But it is very emotional. I almost cried! I recomend this book to any of you horse crazy lovers out there! My favorite part was when Carole yelled at Fiona, right then I was thinking "All right Carole!" Just like Carole said, "GRADES DON'T MEAN ANYTHING IT'S THE EFFORT YOU PUT INTO IT!

I really enjoyed that book. Bonnie Bryant made me feel as if I were really there! I thought that it was very exiting when Carol took Delilah into the woods. Oh and this is a message for everyone who put something about the book not being realistic: GET A LIFE! IT'S A BOOK! THE NON REALISM MAKES IT FUN TO READ!
I just wanted to say.....

In response on how come other horses in pine hollow didn't get the disease I have the answer. E.I.A. is a blood disease usually passed by misquitos and sometimes vets needles if they aren't cleaned poroperly. Delilah contracted the disease while at a neighboring stable where she was going to be bred to the stallion there. The stable Delilah was sent to was near a swamp where misquitos were abundant where as Pine hollow was not. But when Delilah returned to Pine hollow with the virus another thing that kept the other horses from getting E.I.A. was when Delilah returned it was getting colder so misquitos were scarce. Delilah was also placed in a isolation stall is a barn with screen doors to keep what ever misquitos that there were still flying around from getting in or out. E.I.A. also as I mentioned before passed by blood which explains why the saddle club didnt have to wash after touching Delilah. As for Carole taking out a sick horse she was upset about her father and Delilah and wasn't thinking clearly or rationaly. I think it was wonderful exciting and sad. So anyway I just wanted to clear things up.
it's sad, but great

NIGHTMARE was an exallent book despite the fact that one of the saddle club's, [and mine!] favorite horse gets EQUINE INFECTIONIS ANEMIA or swamp fever and, uh, well you will just have to read the book! But something that Ms.Bryant didn't mention is that EIA is highley contagious, kind of like chicken pox. And because of the that, the book was just a little unrealistic because when 1 of the SC members saw and touched the horse that gets EIA,and they didn't decontaminate themselves afterward-which in REAL life, most of the horses at Pine Hollow would be dead. Besides that, the book was emoitional and fantasitic and was written real well. It felt like I was right there, [but i truley wouldn't want something like EIA to infect the horses where I ride].
