Most people see the world in binary categories. They believe that there is either an inherent moral good that we must all obey, or there are no rules and life is pointless anarchy. Nihilism argues for... This description may be from another edition of this product.
I've somehow gotten through several chapters of this book before giving up because it's so badly written its ridiculous. None of the chapters seem to be about what they say they are, the author will talk about other things and then maybe mention the topic labelled as the chapter title towards the end, if at all. The author also seems to be confused about what nihilism is at times, and even in one point says that nihilists can believe in god, which contradicts the definition of nihilism which is the belief in nothing. A lot of the writing here is such poorly written meandering nonsense that it's borderline incoherent and is hard to even comprehend - the reason being that this guy does not have an editor, because this is actually just the transcripts from a blog of his, and much of what he writes are responses to peoples comments (which were probably stupid comments and thus his responses are also stupid - for instance there's one completely and utterly unrelated tangent he goes on at one point during a chapter that is supposed to be about misanthropy (but isn't) where he talks about how bread doesn't stay fresh and loses its flavor, which he does without relating it to the topic at hand at all, which also doesn't seem related to what the chapter is supposed to be about). The blog articles that became this book were written in the order he thought of them and then published in that order, which is non-sequential and completely disorganized. So the chapter where he introduces and defines the topic of nihilism does not even come first. The order of the topics makes absolutely no sense, similar to the content of them. This guy is not a real author and is an absolutely terrible writer who doesn't even seem to understand the topics he is writing about, let alone how to properly write about a topic. He is probably just someone who has an out of control mind that is always ruminating and ranting about things. I cannot believe I paid $10 for this book and wasted so much time trying to read it. I wish I could get that money and time back.
