Expert contributors offer insights from economics, history, and other disciplines to define the nonprofit's place and mission in a market economy--from soliciting contributions and recruiting volunteers to government regulation of nonprofit activity.
Though this book is a bit dated it does give a good amount of background and discussion on nonprofit organizations and how they function in the market economy. This book would be helpful for nonprofit executives and those interested in the sector to understand the place of nonprofits in the economy as a whole. It is not good to assume that nonprofits function and fulfill the same roles in our society as business or government and this book helps to explain those differences. Very helpful book.
