Miserable with a head cold, Nora must stay in her room and blow her nose, while others walk by and stop to pluck roses from the bus outside her window . . . Determined to keep her last rose, Nora immortalizes it by drawing its picture . . . Ichikawa works her familiar magic through the charming watercolor illustrations.--Booklist.
I love Nora's Roses- it is a delightful book for a young child or for anyone who remembers being in bed with a cold. The illustrations are particularly charming; in fact they would stand alone. I especially appreciate the multi-cultural, multi-generational characters (not to mention the animals). Nora's imagination adds more to the story as well!
