For a first novel I think it was a great read! It's been a while since I've read any book in one day but I had to finish to find out what happened next. Didn't put it down once I began reading it. Growing up in New York made this book seem very real to me and the way it's written made me visualize every moment. Great Job!!! Can't wait for the next one.
Great debut novel

I was pleasantly surprised by Dana's writing skills. I've known him to be an iconic story-telling Hip-Hop artist from the '80s, but was glad to experience his successful transition to "Author". He remains relevant in today's Hip-Hop circles and has now put his stamp on the literay community! I'm anxiously awaiting the next book (there MUST be a Part II)...need to know what happens to these characters. Congrats!
