Maiquel is a young used car salesman from the mean streets of Sao Paolo with a bleak outlook. When a petty barroom tiff turns sour, Maiquel gets his first taste of the kill. But instead of being arrested, he is lauded as a local hero. Yet something in the undertow troubles him.
i think the reviewer who gave this book 3 stars missed the point of this book. this is not a crime novel. it is literature! this book has a lot of different levels- the Library Review comparing it to Tarantino is right on in that it has that surreal, making-fun-of-itself quality. its not meant to be realism! i found her writing really refreshing and the main character fascinating (especially knowing that this book was written by a woman).

Is an excellent book But i am so sorry about have to read a sao pablos history talkin about: "me cago en la leche". A typical spain expression. If you are not spanish and listen it, identify an spanish man. Then you have to remenber that is Patricia Melo, and she is talking in Sao Pablo, and she needs a better translator. I would like to listen typical brazilian expressions
