A chilling documentary of the drug trade in Mexico.

This is a truly chilling but very real account and documentary of the world, lifestyles, viciousness and inhumanity of the Mexican drug cartels. The torture and death of DEA agent Enrique Camarena awoke a nation (USA) to just how serious a threat the drug cartels are and just how much DEA agents and other law-enforcement personell risk in order to keep illegal drugs out of the nation. You also get extensive information about ever-present corruption in the Mexican government and their unwillingness to help solve this incredibly brutal torture-murder. The transcripts of Agent Camarena's interrogations and torture (almost) made me cry at the thought of such incredible inhumanity and cruelty's being possible. His death certainly was brutal and tragic but Agent Camarena (and his diligence, efforts and hard work) will never be forgotten. I highly recommend this book but know that it truly is heart-wrenching as it's a true and first-person account of one of the 1980s' biggest tragedies.
A first hand look into Mexico's drug world and the ultimate price paid by one of our finest!

This is one of the most informative and well written pieces of literature regarding the tragic loss of DEA agent Kiki Camarena. With Mr. Kuykendall's experience from his career in federal law enforcement, he brings to light not only a first person account of the Camarena incident, but to the even bigger problem that Mexico is essentially bought and run by ruthless cartel leaders and drug traffickers with extremely deep pockets and no regard for human life. This book really opens your eyes as to what is continuously happening in Mexico and the real dangers U.S. Agents encounter as they combat the traffickers and their drugs entering the U.S. Hopefully this won't be the last time Mr. Kuykendall shares his knowledge and expertise on this often forgotten but extremely serious situation! I highly recommend this book not only for the law enforcement professionals and people in the criminal justice field, but to the general public as well. The ultimate sacrifice you paid in serving your country will never be forgotten Kiki. "Por tus pasos nadie caminara!"
