In the backdrop of the Middle East War of the 1980s over the control of Lebanon, Jack McCarthy, a CIA clandestine officer, begins to establish a network of informants through Bab, a questionable Lebanese businessman. Jack's wife, Kat, is involved in an intelligence operation of her own, and is inadvertently drawn into Bab's duplicitous plan. Bab tries to outwit the intelligence services of both Labanon's Muslim neighbors and the CIA, playing both sides of the coin. Meanwhile, an internationally wanted bomb maker deploys his craftsmanship in Beirut, interrupting Bab's scheme and putting Jack and Kat's lives in danger.
