I found this to be a wonderful book! Cathy Johnson describes a connection to the natural world as seen through the eyes and experiences of an artist. As I read, I became delightfully lost with the author as she explored inner and outer worlds. Ramble with her as she explores the woods, our connections to self and environment, and the mysteries of life. This book is for those who see art, science, and language as happy companions, and who have ever marveled at the opening of a mushroom or felt their soul settle into harmony near a stream.
Beautiful and Timely

This is a book to give away as a gift. A beautiful book. Oversized softcover with a dust jacket. Have you ever heard of such a thing? I hadn't. The result is great, especially because the dust jacket has a painting on it that's framable. Johnson does her own illustrations. For once, a naturalist's book that is readable. The contents are divided into chapters on loss (Lost to the World, Lost in the Woods, and so on), but the last chapter is a hopeful "Lost and Found."
