"A poetic and philosophical and brave and uplifting meditation on how important it is to make peace and meaning of our lives while we still have them." -Elizabeth Gilbert, bestselling author of Eat... This description may be from another edition of this product.
Egan is a hospice chaplain. Her style flows easily between sharing the stories of individuals she meets and her own gleanings. She does not preach, and shares her personal story (she almost died) as well as explaining her work in an open and humble manner. I found this book inspiring and have given ON LIVING as a gift to a senior chaplain and to friends whose parents are dying.
