A journalist gathers the tales of three young women and their experiences with the wrong men, near-perfect romances, promotions, unemployment, sushi lessons, and more, to create a three-pronged... This description may be from another edition of this product.
I bought this book after reading a few reviews and was a littleconcerned about the confusion between the three characters that had been mentioned. Don't listen to them! I had no problem following as each woman had a distinct personality and lived in different cities. It was witty and interesting and very true to dating life in your late 20s/early 30s. Buy this book! You won't be disappointed.
Smart, sexy and real

I enjoyed reading this book, as a single woman, I can definitely relate to Casey, Anna and Jen. Although I did have to flip back pages to remember who was whom, but once I got learned who the characters were, it was an enjoyable read. I hope Melissa Roth comes out with another book like this soon!
real -- funny and smart

I read this in one sitting while visiting my parents during a holiday weekend -- then my mother took it from me and devoured it. She was shocked to see firsthand how much sexual freedom women today had; I was shocked that she was so naive about it. In any case, though, it made us realize how much differently we see the world of relationships. On the Loose showed her that single thirty-somethings can have fun, and the fact that I haven't settled down doesn't mean that I'll never get married. It's such a relief to be able to hand a book over, rather than go through that painful "why-aren't-you-married" conversation yet one more time. Thanks Melissa Roth! You entertained me and got me off the hook (sort of) with the 'rents.
A witty rundown of singledom by Melissa Roth
Published by Thriftbooks.com User , 25 years ago
There are over 40 million single women in the United States today, millions and millions more world wide, and we're not all actively looking for "the one." In an age where its finally okay not to rush to the altar, On The Loose is an exceptional portrait of the lives of three women who treat singledom as an adventure to be savored. My comment to Roth, you've mastered women's lives---time to take on the men!
Couldn't put it down

The best of Ally McBeal, without the whiny attitude, this book was like eating some forbidden food -- it was delicious, unforgettable, and gone all too soon. The women are real people: they do stupid things in their relationships and careers, fall in love with men who are great (and terrible), and succeed in ways you don't expect. But it's not a "teaching" book -- as Seinfeld said, "no hugging!" This is a totally fun and fascinating read. I loved it!!
