When Josephine agreed to be Alex's maid of honour, she didn't realize this meant spending so much time with someone she'd spent years trying to forget. She never thought she'd see Fallon Adams again considering the way they last parted. But now that he's back, he's more persistent, mysterious and confusing than she remembers. She's offended by his judgement over how her life turned out. His warnings spark a realization that Josephine's life isn't as perfect as she's been making herself believe - in fact, it's a lot worse.
The reality is, she's become delusional to her abuse. And she justifies her human flaws by forsaking everything to keep them hidden. She believes she can survive this way... until she gives into her desires. Once she gets a glimpse of the life she feels robbed of, she can't unsee it. She becomes addicted and thoughtless to the taste of Fallon.
With the light shining directly overtop her needs, her marriage grows increasingly dangerous. Leaving Josephine to wonder if a year is enough time to move from one life and on to the next one.

★★★★★
"I absolutely loved this book! I had finished all my others and was looking for something similar to the genre I like, and this was it. Perfect balance of romance and heartbreak. I feel like I connected with Josie as she seems like an 'actual' person as opposed to one of those characters that you find hard to believe exists."
★★★★★
"The characters keep you captivated and craving to find out what comes next. Honestly it's a must read and I can't wait for the sequel to come out to continue with Josie and Fallon's Journey together. This book brought tears to my eyes many times as I could truly feel the experiences that Josie endured along the way."
