My uncle in WW2 Normandy June-August, 1944....research..

I am attempting to find out about my uncle's involvement in WW2 in Normandy. I intend to explore the battlefield in 2007. Had to try and piece it all together by reading several books in this series. Each one provided more information including Operation Epsom. Tracing the battles; dates; movement on the maps; etc. was fascinating. This particular battle - Epsom - was just one part of the whole operation during the months of June, July and August, 1944. Getting specific information about an individual is very difficult - but got a good overall feel for the time and place from this book, et al. These young men were in some of the bloodiest fighting of WW2 when the allies were getting a toehold in Normandy and losses were very heavy. No wonder many of them (all??) were never the same again.....their souls were seared by their experiences. NOW, I begin to understand a little!
