This book is really outdated now (Feb 2003) but it is a relatively quick read and provides useful insight in how to use (and not use) the Oracle 8 features from an independent point of view. The authors are definitively experts on Oracle design issues and I hope they bless the Oracle community with a 9i version of their text - that would be truly wonderful...

Unlike books from the Oracle Press, this book gives details about the caviats on all the new functionality within Oracle 8. This is key in saving development time that is usually spent figuring out why something isn't working the way you thought it should.

Other books keep blabbering about oracle7 eventhough it is a oracle8 book, but this book discusses in a very comprehensive manner the new features of oracle8 and gives you desing tips.
