ORCHARD VALLEY BRIDES--AND TEXAS GROOMSNorah Bloomfield is feeling a bit unneeded these days. Her father is recovering from his heart attack, and her sisters, Valerie and Stephanie, are busy planning their weddings. But then a cantankerous Texan named Rowdy Cassidy crashes his small plane in Orchard Valley. The same Rowdy Cassidy who'd been Valerie's boss...and who'd demanded Valerie marry him. Now he's Norah's patient, and in all her nursing experience she's never encountered a more difficult man. Or a more irresistible one Except...is he still in love with her sister? When Norah's friend Sherry Waterman leaves Orchard Valley, Oregon, for Pepper, Texas, she's definitely not in the mood for Lone Star Lovin'. But if anyone can change her mind, it's Cody Bailman--a hardworking, good-looking rancher. Not only that, Cody has a twelve-year-old daughter who thinks Sherry's "just perfect for Dad" Texas men are a breed apart...
As always Debbie Macomber has done it. She can weave a tale around a known place and yet make it totally believable. You can put yourself right in the area and know exactly where you are. She is the BEST!

I loved this story it followed up the book Orchard Valley grooms. Now there should be a follow up to the brides book with Orchard Valley kids or something that lets us know how the families are doing.
Cute Reprint

There are 2 very cute novels in Orchard Valley Brides. There is a HUGE but, though. These are reprints of two previously published books in 1992 and 1993. No where on the cover, back or introduction does it say these are reprints. I absolutely hate this practice of publishers or authors that do this. This book is less expensive than buying these books separately, but please do not mislead your readers into thinking they are getting a new story! The two books are `Norah' and `Lone Star Lovein''. They both intertwine a bit. In `Norah' a rich and handsome, of course, Texan crashes in his airplane in Oregon. There is an attraction between him and Norah, a nurse at the hospital. Of course, they have a split and get back together for a happy ending - no surprise in these stories. In `Lone Star Loven' Norah's friend Sherry comes to Texas to be a nurse and mid wife in a small town. She meets a handsome, well off rancher, and his daughter immediately sets out on a campaign to bring the two of them together. They kiss and fall immediately in love, then have problems and a happy ending. Debbie Malcomber writes sweet, cute, interesting stories, she includes a letter in the beginning to welcome you to her writing and tells about herself in relation to the stories. It's great personalization, but I would appreciate her admitting that these are not new books. They are an enjoyable read and draw you in with a smile - as long as you haven't been misled into thinking these are new novels, that is.

Even though this was a republication, I really enjoyed this book and its companion Orchard Valley Grooms. Both are typical Macomber reads.
