"Brilliantly conceived and plotted ... Read this book. You'll thank me later." -- David Baldacci Who is Orphan X? The Nowhere Man is a legendary figure spoken about only in whispers. It's said that when he's reached by the truly desperate and deserving, the Nowhere Man can and will do anything to protect and save them. But he's not merely a legend. "Excellent...A smart, stylish, state-of-the-art thriller...might give Lee Child's Jack Reacher books a run for their money." --The Washington Post Evan Smoak is a man with skills, resources, and a personal mission to help those with nowhere else to turn. He's also a man with a dangerous past. Chosen as a child, he was raised and trained as an Orphan, an off-the-books black box program designed to create the perfect deniable intelligence asset: An assassin. Evan was Orphan X--until he broke with the program and used everything he learned to disappear. But now someone is on his tail. Someone with similar skills and training who will exploit Evan's secret new identity as the Nowhere Man to eliminate him. "Hurwitz melds nonstop action and high-tech gadgetry...in this excellent series opener." -- Publishers Weekly (starred review ) This edition of the book is the deluxe, tall rack mass market paperback.
Gregg Hurwitz' "the nowhere man" just "smoked"... Mark Greaney's "the gray man" (forgive me).

I'm currently reading Hurwitz', "Dark Horse" (7th of the Orphan X series). This author is incapable of writing a bad novel. They just keep getting better (seriously!). There is tons of fascinating information about, e.g., IT. I put the book down to look up stuff...and don't even mind! Jack Carr, Mark Greaney, Vince Flynn, Tim Tigner, Steven Konkoly, M.P. Woodward...(only read 2 Brad Thor novels) all excellent authors...they write very good, exciting, page-turners, however, Hurwitz, is the new "action/thriller/contract assassin/gov. asset" master. The content of these books makes me extra glad I'm an avid, addictive, voracious reader. Believe me, fellow readers - this is good stuff. Start with "Orphan X"... the protagonist is "Evan Smoak". He's a "takes names & kick-ass" (in that order) kinda guy. There's the "spoiler"...enough "said".
Regarding Hurwitz' book, Lee Child wrote a brief review reading "...you'll thank me..." Well, thank you (though, I've only read his "The Killing Floor)!
Novels such as Hurwitz' are enough to make almost any "candy crusher" ditch that mind-numbing "game".

The beginning of the best series in this entire over done genre. Gray Man, Victor, Allon, Bourne…they are decent. This Ophan X puts them all to shame.
Read them all in order, he is tooooo cool

Just like the Gray Man, this series is amazing. Great characters and story. I listened to this entire series, but have bought them for friends. They are hooked as well. Keep them coming! So much fun and action. I adore Evan Smoak AKA The Nowhere Man.
