This is the second book I read about Oscar and Emmy. In this book, the kittens start sitting at the window and acting like there is a threat outside. After sitting and observing quietly, the kids (Charlie and Abby) see another cat come out of the bushes. They put food out for the cat, and since she’s feral they leave alone to eat. Eventually, after she trusts the family she brings her kittens out to see everyone. The family humanely trap the kittens so they can be spayed/neutered and released. They continue to feed the kittens until they are old enough to go off on their own.
