Out of her League by Kaylea Cross is a terrific read. I am not a fan of Harlequin type romances, nor in any way a sports enthusiast but in spite of that I loved this novel about a young woman baseball player who is being stalked by an obsessed fan. The heroine Christa is young and smart and falls for the young Emergency Response officer, Rayne, who is called in to investigate the man who is showing up at her games, following her home. He seems to know her every move. The suspense is killing so I will not give the plot away, except to say, it will have you turning the pages long after you should be asleep. In contrast to the tensioned filled scenes between the Rayne and Christa are scenes set in Charleston, South Carolina where the couple travels to flee the stalker and to meet Rayne's mother. These are replete with wonderful descriptions of historic houses and furnishings. The author has fine feeling and well researched knowledge of the American South. The novel has a number of sub-plots- Christa's girl friend, Rayne's parent's mysterious break up and divorce. The ending is totally satisfying. Read it.

This book came recommended from a friend. At first, I thought it might not be something in my general interest but I thought I'd give it a go...glad I did! Attention was grabbed in the first few pages which lead to a perfect 'page turner' for me - loved the characters and the storyline as a whole. Would love to read more by this author!
