Stunning photographic science and artistry

Full disclosure: I had Michael as an undergraduate geology student many years ago and have since followed his life as an M.D., private pilot, Colorado river runner, gifted science writer and aerial photographer. He and I also live in the same glorious hometown, Flagstaff, AZ. Michael's photography is equally complemented by his writing. This is a stunning book, and one that one does not need coursework in geology to appreciate. A marvelous gift for anyone who appreciates planet Earth, including our sometimes dangerous alterations of it.
