I am struck by how physically beautiful this book is. The layout, design, and photography make it a book you want to touch. It's also got a wonderful voice; feels like a leisurely conversation with a good friend. Can't wait to get to the food part!
From a farmer

This book is a treasure, and I am so grateful to these three women for undertaking this project. I feel a great kinship with Lisa, her optimism for our food system, her pluckiness, her curiosity and enthusiasm for life out of doors -- so I am just pouring over the book. Thank you for reminding me what a wonderousl path we have chosen to pursue. For farmers like me, this book was timed perfectly after a really unsettling growing season: this rainy year of climate chaos has been a trial of sorts, cast with so much self doubt for so many of us. Picking up this book from my bedside table, for me, is like saying my prayers or counting my blessings before I go to sleep at night. Thank you.

This is a beautiful and evocative book that captures the poetry and hard work of living a sustainable farming life. The writing and photos are gorgeous, and if you like goat cheese, you'll love the recipes.
Delightful and delicious

After seeing Ms. Schwartz on The Martha Stewart Show I couldn't wait to read her delightful book. The story is lovingly shared with readers and invites you to read on as you are educated in the art of farmstead cheese making and sustainable farming. The beautiful photographs bring the farm to life and the seasonal recipes are a wonderful bonus.
