The stories in this collection are based on the events the author observed during his extended stays in five countries on four continents over a period of fifty years. There is a mix of humour and pathos but no accusations or guilt. Although stories are grouped together in eight chapters based on locations and/or subject matter, continuity is not intended. The last chapter, Looking Back, is a series of essays which are a summation of the wisdom the author garnered over his long life from broad study, travel, and living with a brilliant wife and three remarkable daughters. Author is grateful to his dear friend Robert van Mastrigt for cover preparation and authors photograph. A special thank you to friends and strangers who unwittingly supplied the material for the book.
