This book came VERY highly recommended. Took be a bit to get through as I didn't care for how it time jumped. I may be broken but at best it was mildly creepy for me. I would love to read this done from another characters POV.
Haunting and Incredible

Impossible to put down, Penpal tells the story of a man reflecting back on his childhood, full of strange scenarios and unanswered questions, as he puts the pieces together and discovers the horrifying truth about his life. The end of each chapter felt like a punch to the gut as more of the story came to light in chilling and ominous revelations. Seeing in part through the eyes of a child, his innocence and naivety is a powerful tool to illustrate how dark and disturbing some of the plot elements truly are. Nothing could have prepared me for the ending, which was beautifully written but devastating and soul-crushing. In a matter of pages, all of the unanswered questions are explained, though you may wish that they had remained unanswered.

I just finished this book and wow I am trying to find the words. Very suspenseful and chilling. I loved it...and I wasn't expecting to get so emotional with this one. Highly recommend but will warn it is not a happy one. Leaves you thinking about the what ifs...how things can happen and the terrible people that are in this world.

I read this almost in one night. I found myself putting it down because I was too amped up from this book! Great read and hard to put down.

The realism of the plot will keep you up at night. Fantastically written, it is one of those stories that will stick with you for a while.
