This is a refreshing book on wood finishing. Rather than go through a reference of chemicals, materials and abstract applications, Sue runs step-by-step thru about a dozen different projects. Each project is a little different in material, construction, application and approach. Each step is illustrated, explained, and given a time estimate.Sue introduces dyes and glazes and takes you beyond the types of finishes that you will find on the shelf... Through the trip, she covers nearly the whole arsenal of a professional finisher.It really helped me break out of my routine two finishes and open up to experimentation.Definitely the right book for someone who wants to both learn and then move beyond the basics. This is different than references by Flexner and Jewitt, but a welcomed complement.
