Twenty years and several pounds ago... I was Bernice Strum, hairstylist to the stars. Until I fell for--and got pregnant by--Alex Scott, a handsome actor with a career on the rise. But I gave my baby up for adoption and moved across the country to settle in Prichett, Wisconsin. I made friends, started a faith journey, and then one day I got a call from my now-adult daughter that turned my world upside down... and brought Alex back into my life. Now he's here (living in my dream house ) and he wants to pick up where we left off--but how can I trust his picket-fence promises when he's not a believer in anything but himself?
I've enjoyed reading the Picket Fence Promises book. It has been a very easy, fun read with tons of faith-filled reminders of the need for God's grace in our daily lives!
A breath of fresh air

Picket Fence Promises had me laughing, crying, cringing, sighing, smiling and racing to find out just how it ends. Its heroine, Bernice Strum, is a breath of fresh air for anyone who is sick of the near perfect, impossible to relate to heroines of most romance novels. Page by page, she will find her way into your heart and inspire you to see God, yourself, and the people around you in new and exciting ways.
A Real Woman's Romance!

Bernice Strum is my all around favorite romance character. She is witty, vulnerable, real and very very much alive! When life could have kept her down, she kept going and finds lasting joy on top of happiness. All of the characters in this book will draw you in and lift you up. Women of any age will find laughter, insight and more of God's truths. This is a great stand alone book or follow up to Picket Fence Promises - you will have a hard time putting this down once you start it!I can't wait to read the next Pritchett book out this month - The Prince Charming List.
A delightful, thought-provoking read

This book arrived on Monday, and I was finished by Thursday...amidst chasing two toddlers around my house, no less! I couldn't put it down. Kathryn Springer brings her characters to life in a way that makes you feel like you live right there in Prichett! :) The way she weaves God's word and wisdom into her stories is inspiring. I feel like I could give these books to a non-believing friend and have them bring her closer to a relationship with God. The book is funny, witty, smart, charming, and will bring "happy tears" to your eyes. I definitely recommend starting with her first one, "Front Porch Princess", so you understand all of the background and characters (although she does a good job weaving the details into this storyline). Enjoy the read!
