This was the book that started it all for me...and I've been researching and eating edible plants for about 10 years now. This by far the best book for children to learn about wild edibles that I've ever seen. It's also great for "expeditions" into the outdoors, and crafts, too. There's so much this book has to offer!

As a parent, I am always looking for neat things to do out doors with my toddlers, 2 and 4. Since we live in the country, playgrounds and best friends are out of the picture. We depend on nature for fun. This book is thoughtfully and carefully writte, presenting clear directions on how to identify wild foods (colour pictures included), gather, process and cook. Enjoy cat-tail corn on the cob, or use acorn flour to make pancakes. this book combines my children's favorite activities - hiking and eating.
