Seasoned missionary-author Jean Phillips pulls back the curtain to her private life by sharing with the public two sets of personal writings-Jean's own poetry written over 63 years and the letters exchanged between Jean and her husband Gene before their marriage. Poems from the Heart is a collection of poetry penned by Jean at various points throughout her life and ministry. Poems include words of advice to her children as they reach various life milestones, a reflection on the brief life of her premature child, and verses pertaining to spiritual matters and life with Christ, as well as other influential life events and important relationships to which Jean paid tribute in rhyme. With photos included throughout, this assemblage reveals the themes, people, and events most cherished in Jean's life. Love Letters between Gene Phillips and Jean Jarvis is a compilation of the communication that Gene and Jean Phillips had with each other during their courtship between 1951-52. Originally handwritten, these documents have been transcribed and preserved for future generations and provide an intimate insight into the thoughts and feelings of this young Christian man and woman as they prepared for a marriage that would ultimately last more than 61 years. The concluding letter is called God's Love Letter to You and Me and tells how we can become a part of God's forever family.
