My [...] daughter loves Princess Ellie! Every night she begs for just one more chapter. I must admit that I read her this one all in one night because I wanted to find out what the decorator was up to! These books have stories that are easy to follow for younger readers. They do not have pictures on every page, so my four year olds don't usually hang around for long. If your child is reading at a 2nd grade or higher reading level, they should be able to read these books on their own. This story (as other Princess Ellie books) did NOT contain any name calling, foul language, etc. Princess Ellie does not always agree with her parents or her governess, Miss Stringle. However, Princess Ellie remains respectful and in this book when her parents don't believe her (dad asks for proof)...she finds the proof. My daughter particularly loved that Princess Ellie and Miss Stringle found common ground in this book.
