First a disclaimer: I haven't read the whole book; I'm just skipping around. That said, I was going to give it five stars, but then I see a section discussing CPA (continuing prosecution applications under 2002 law) which is completely out of date. While in many other respects this books seems quite current, I was disappointed to see that not all sections have been updated.

Excellent historical overview and sidebar essays add an additional perspective to the topic. Most, but not all, of the case-specific discussions are well-written. Chapters on Section 102 (Novelty) and 103 (Obviousness) are sufficiently detailed to tease apart the complexity of these concepts.
