Proverbs for Life for Men: Everyday Wisdom for Everyday Living

Proverbs for Life for Men has been published under the Zondervan "gift group" label of "inspirio". An excellent book which can be used for daily devotional readings. It is definitly designed for the working man (as a retired man I found some sections a little dated for me, as I no longer spend my day in the workplace.) You can use this book yourself or give it as a gift. Each two page reading is a mix of verses (mostly from Proverbs), inspirational writings and poetry. There are 46 readings for used as a daily devotional time reading. Many of them include a suggested assignment to do during the day (such as think about a specific part of your life, or work out alternatives to coping with a type of problem.) The scripture reading use many diferent versions of the Bible. The Good News Translation is used heavily, but selections also come from the New International Version, New International Reader's Version, New American Standard Version, New Revised Standard Version, and one or two from the old KJV. This was a personal problem for me as I memorized many of these verses in KJV and found the alternate reading of some proverbs a problem. However, this should not be a problem for most men.
