When a rhythmic read-aloud master pairs up with a Caldecott Honor?winning artist to visit endearing species of baby animals, the result can only be instant toddler appeal. QUACK! Mama Duck announces the hatching of five peeping, waddling, flapping, nibbling, wobbling, wibbling baby ducklings. Splish, splosh, splash! A lively, lilting text by Phyllis Root links with luminous collages by Holly Meade in an original board book perfect for reading aloud to the preschool crowd.
We have been reading this book to our son since he was born. He's now 10 months old and he LOVES this book. We also recite it from memory while he's in the tub.
Fun to Read Together

My littlest son is 18 months old and this book has been a favorite of his for several months now. It has a catchy rhythm that is fun to read out loud and the pictures are especially sweet. There is a lot to look at and talk about and you see the baby ducks go from hatching to swimming. This is a wonderful book for the under-two crew!
Imaginative & entertaining

For the toddler just beginning to use their imagination, this book gives just enough rhythmic rhyme to get them started. The illustrations are fun and my 18-month old daughter just couldn't put it down.

I have this book for my two-year-old son. He absolutely loves it! I think this is a great book for helping children love to read. The story is simple, quick, and catchy, (the use of rhyming words is excellent!). We also love Hop! by the same author!!
