Thirty ideas for gifts, home accessories, decorations and wearables are shown here, with step-by-step instructions illustrated by photographs, templates and patterns. Each project has a clock icon to... This description may be from another edition of this product.
This book is broken up into sections based on how long it takes to do the projects (shortest, 30 min. and longest a weekend). I thought they would take longer but the time estimates were right on target for the projects I tried. The good thing about this book is a lot of the projects teach techniques that you can use to make other stuff, rather than just copying a design or pattern.
Livia McRee Rocks Natick!
Published by Thriftbooks.com User , 23 years ago
I have all of Livia McRee's books and they just keep getting better. Quick Crafts is "intended to be a helpful guide and inspiring reference for both the casual and the constant crafter" and is organized by 30 minute, 2 hour, afternoon, and weekend projects. As with most of Rockport Publishers books, Quick Crafts is filled with beautiful photography and clean, stylish page layouts. Livia helps out beginner crafters with a glossary of "basic tools" and "quick tips" and projects such as the Etched Glass Candle Holder-it's amazing what a few found objects and some etching cream can do! For the more advanced crafter, the Beaded Paper Valance will dress up any window. My personal favorite is the No Sew Handbag, (everyone thinks I can sew now). In addition to 30 great projects "to make and share with friends" there's a Gallery of Quick Crafts in the back of the book and patterns for many of the projects are provided. I've already pre-ordered Livia's next book, Easy Transfers for Any Surface: Crafting with Images and Photos. I can't get enough!
