Once the exclusive territory of old maids and pioneer women, modern crafters are discovering the cozy rewards of quilting. From the traditional to the contemporary, Quilt presents 15 original projects... This description may be from another edition of this product.
Initially I bought this book for the Japanese hexagonal quilt pattern inside. I love Japanese fabric and had collected a lot of it over the years. The thought of making a patchwork quilt hadn't occurred to me until I was inspired by the design in this book. If you want to make a quilt with a contemporary feel, then you should be able to find something suitable here - there are many different designs in this book and I'm about to start a scrap quilt using 1930s fabrics. The book introduces basic techniques of quilt making. These were sufficient for me as I've been making clothes for many years but may not be good enough for a beginner. A word of warning about the hexagon quilt - the template in the book is not an exact hexagon so you will need to correct this by remeasuring all the sides, otherwise the fabric pieces will not fit very well.
