Quiz Kidz Thumbs Down Bullying is a beautifully illustrated and wonderfully told story that teaches kids very important lessons about bullying. Ideal for elementary school children ages five through eight, it carries young readers to a marvelous international school in New York City that's populated by animals from various parts of the world with all different shapes, sizes, and colors. The story centers on a young dinosaur named Dakota who is experiencing problems with his classmate and former best friend, Harry the horse. Harry makes fun of Dakota every chance he gets, and it makes Dakota very unhappy and confused. There are even moments when Dakota doesn't want to go to school, just so he can avoid Harry's cruelty toward him. Also central to the story are a pleasant pink pig named Penelope and the hefty teacher, Ms. Hippo. They each have something to say about what's going on between Harry and Dakota. And what they say will help young readers better understand the role others play in the all-too-common bullying scenario. This delightful and enlightening children's story was written by a mother-son team who experienced childhood bullying in their own lives. It raises awareness about a very serious issue in a fun, child-friendly manner.
