If you are intimidated by the seemingly tedious rug work of others, I encourage you to gander this one! You'll soon see it is an art of the creative mind. If you can imagine it, you can hook, prod or poke a gorgeous rug as well. I truly enjoyed this book for many reasons, mainly for the gorgeous and very colorful rugs featured within. After perusing this book you will no longer need a push to start your own. This book features uniquely creative projects, a rare treat in this modern day time of copycat images. Plenty of inspiration here, folks!

This is a great book. I have been doing hooked rugs but this book gives a lot of new and contemporary ideas. She combines hooked and braided techniques to make beautiful rugs. She also interduces the prodded and appliqued rug technique with complete directions for all these rugs from start to finish. She includes all the patterns in the last section. I am thrilled with this book. I had checked it out of my public library. It is so good I had to buy it.

These are NOT the rugs you have thoughtlessly wiped your feet on at Aunt Bertha's house. WOW! This book has rugs that have left the floor and have risen to an art form. They are gorgeous! The delectible photos and clear directions make you want to rip up rags and get started immediately.
