Beautiful and informative

What an incredibly beautiful book! When I purchased it I was simply thinking basic rain forest information, but this is truly a work of art, thanks to not only Levinsons' skill in discussing all sorts of rain forest information but Hearn's incredible and detailed illustrations--that are still bright enough to attract the young eye. Levinson throws out information in a waterfall of a list--simply for this is after all a children's book. She compares both types of rain forests: temperate versus tropical. All the good basic information is giving, plus a few random facts just because. Each page is filled to the brim with labeled illustrations of plants and animals. Educational and amazing to behold.
