This is the piano accompaniment and teacher's manual for a collection of songs for young violin students, created to make practicing fun and productive. Each song is really a study in a particular technique, beginning with bow on open strings and continuing through major and minor finger patterns, introducing different meters and rhythms, and offering practice in bowings and articulations. In the manner of Paul Rolland, the accompaniments turn the exercises into music. Students enjoy these songs and often choose to perform them on recitals. An accompaniment CD will soon be available.
