"Long on action and strong in characterization and description, this is the well-written story of Nick and Hildy, who serve as Navy torpedo bomber crewmen aboard the U.S.S. Shiloh in the South Pacific... This description may be from another edition of this product.
When I read Raspberry One, I thought that what it did was incredible. I truly experienced the second world war through the eyes of Hildy and Nick. The book succeeded in a vivid portrayal of the real world events of those times. I think that the author succeeds as well in the fact that he doesn't make the story seem larger than life. Instead you are able to relate to the characters and the stress that they are going through.
About two airmen of a TBF Avenger
Published by Thriftbooks.com User , 26 years ago
This is a very good book about two airmen on a TBF Avenger, a torpedo bomber of WWII, and are sent away on the U.S.S Shiloh (fictional). They do return home but one loses his hand and the other serverly injures his leg. The book is good but the end is kind of iffy. I liked this because it shows the horrer of the war.
