classic papers of psychology [including Milgram's]

Aronson gathers together a set of seminal papers on psychology; well worth reading by any student of this field. The classical discourse by Milgram on "Behavioral Study of Obedience" is included. From 1963, it relates experiments conducted by him where one student was told ["ordered"] to shock another. At least, so it appeared to the former. In simple form, and quite easy for the reader to follow, the paper has become famous even to laymen. Very unsettling. In the intervening years since the paper's first publication, there has been no refutation of its conclusions. It is probably the best known of the book's chapters. Other chapters cover such diverse topics as persuading people to lose weight, water conservation and sexual aggression.
Worthwhile Social Psych Textbook

This book was one of the required text books in a Social Psychology class I took. The requirement was only a selection of experiments, but because of the interesting collection, and the supurb organization I read the entire book. Very worthwhile!
