LOvely visit with the folks in an English village with an insiders view of all the dynamics. Good depth of characterization. One feels ones knows the people as if they were in ones' own life. Great Read
Interesting human drama

I have read all of rebecca Shaw's novels, having first found them in Britain. They are centered on small casts of characters living together in small rural settings. She uses this arrangment to comment on the current state of society in Britain and to describe the foibles of humankind. I find them amusing and entertaining. They are not weepy, female fiction, but they do focus on the interaction of the characters. If you enjoy this sort of story that takes its force from the characters rather than the action, you will like these books.
