A Psychology Classic
Published by Thriftbooks.com User , 23 years ago
This is one of the classic texts of experimental psychology and a must-read for memory researchers. It introduces the concept of a "schema" and includes multiple landmark studies. It is easy to read, including many examples and illustrations. It should be on every psychologist's shelf next to James' Principles of Psychology and Ebbinghaus' Memory (which, interestingly, is the inspiration for Bartlett's title; Bartlett considered human memory dynamic, thus the verb form contrasting with Ebbignhaus' storehouse view). Don't ignore these and other classic texts in your study of modern experimental psychology!
